Uhhhh yeah but what CBS are doing is turning the character of Watson into a female 'sidekick' (like we haven't seen enough of that already) and they've changed the whole backstory - no longer is Watson an army doctor invalided back home after injury - oh no, now Watson is a DISGRACED doctor who has been sacked. How exactly is this progressive? Maybe if it was Sherlock that was being turned into a female role, that might actually show some progress. But this just sounds like shameless tokenism to me. Well, we'll have to wait and see I suppose. But I am highly sceptical.
